As the only man to sing lead for both the Temptations and the Four Tops, Theo Peoples has carved out a niche for himself as one of the greatest male vocalists of his generation. After an invitation to join the Temptations, Theo took on the daunting task of following a line of legendary Temptations leads such as David Ruffin, Dennis Edwards, and Ali Woodson. He rose to the occasion by delivering songs in an instantly recognizable and compelling style. During his six years with the Temptations, he participated on two landmark albums, For Lovers Only (1996) and 1998’s Phoenix Rising. He sang lead on the latter album’s two hit singles; “Stay,” and his own classic composition, “This Is My Promise,” before departing from the group in 1998.
Over a decade into his journey as a world-renowned vocalist, Theo has established his credentials as the greatest soul vocalist of his era. He has performed in a wide range of musical styles such as Soul, Rock, Gospel and Jazz standards, delivering dramatic reinterpretations of old classics and breathing life into new ones. Despite an impressive resume, he has remained one of music’s best kept secrets, a mystery man of sorts… until now.
